COUNTY GOVERNMENT
Citrus County government operates under a commission/administration form of government, with five elected members making up the Board of County Commissioners and a County Administrator.

In addition to the Administration Offices which include the Office of Employee Relations, Economic Development, Fire Administrator, and Public Information Office, Citrus County has five departments: Public Works, Development Services, Community Services, Health Services, and Technical Services.

The Department of Public Works oversees the Fleet Maintenance Division, Facilities Maintenance Division and Road Maintenance division.

The Department of Development Services oversees the Planning Division, Building Division and Fire Prevention Division.

The Department of Community Services oversees the Human Services Division, Extension Services Division, Parks and Recreation Division, Library Services Division, and Housing Services Division

The Department of Health Services oversees the Emergancy Medical Services, Animal Control Division and the Public Health Division.

The Dapartment of Technical Services oversees the Land Division, Engineering Division, Public Utilities Division, and Aquatics and Solid Waste Division.
